Sankisha or Sankisa is a Buddhist place situated on the banks of Kali River, seven miles from Pakhna railway station in Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh state of India. Its ancient name is Sankashya. It is said that Buddha God came from heaven and came here, the followers of Buddhism consider it as their place of pilgrimage. This is believed to be the place of thirteenth Tirthankara Vimalanathji.
There is a temple of Bishari Devi on a pile of bricks, nearby is the top of the Ashoka pillar on which the elephant statue is built, the chaos has broken the elephant trunk.
History :
Chinese traveler Fahyan came here from Mathura in the first decade of the fifth century and visited Kanyakubj, Shravasti etc. from here. He mentions Sankisa under the name Seung-kyi-Xi. He saw here a thousand monks of the Hinayana and Mahayana sects. Cunningham got a silver coin of Skandagupta from here.
Monuments:
The huge 'Singh' statue was seen here in the seventh century by Yuvanchwang, a 70 feet height pillar, which was built by Emperor Ashoka. At that time too, it was so bright that water seemed so wet. At the top of the pillar was the huge lion statue.
विशाल 'सिंह' प्रतिमा सातवीं शताब्दी में युवानच्वांग ने यहां 70 फुट ऊंचाई स्तम्भ देखा था, जिसे सम्राट अशोक ने बनवाया था। उस समय भी इतना चमकदार था कि जल से भीगा-सा जान पड़ता था। स्तम्भ के शीर्ष पर विशाल सिंह प्रतिमा थी।
इस धार्मिक स्थल पर लंका, वर्मा, इंडोनेशिया, जापान, चीन, सिंघापुर, थाईलैंड से लोग आते है। सरकार ने इसको पर्यटन स्थल घोषित किया है।

Take Farrukhabad Railway Station to Farrukhabad-Kaimganj Bypass Rd and Putri Rd to Murhas Rd in Nangla Khairband. (KM) then,
Continue straight past Akhilesh PAN Corner onto Murhas Rd, Pass by Railway Level Crossing (on the left in 3.7 km)
Follow NH 730C and Aliganj - Sankisa - Mohammadabad Rd/Sankisa Road to Bhongaon - Sankisa Rd (29.8 Km)

My village name is Nagla Baug Rathura, which was nearly 145 Km from my home city Kanpur. We went there in summer vacation or in the festival time. At this time It was a summer vacation. My cousin brother know the place that it was a popular place where foreigner people came arround
every year. So beacuse we lived in the city. We want to explore that place also.

So we 3 me my younger brother and my cousin brother made a plan to go there. We took two cycle as my youger brother was just learing cycle. So we started journey. It was around 12 to 15 kM from my village. We took the same route as was for the Neeb Karori Temple.
